I love the idea behind it but even with all the 3d party tools and mods, the game is still has some major issues and IMHO its developer is not up to the task.Today we bring you another update on our Kickstarters. I am hinting that you are speaking of your personal preference as opposed to "gamers" as a whole.Īlso regarding DF, in face of how rare such games are I understand why so many put it on a pedestal, but honestly atm its not such a good game.
#HELL ARCHITECT KICKSTARTER MODS#
Most gamers prefer FPS and MP, in fact today most "gamers" prefer mobile crap.Īlso the reason many don't like DF is only partially due to its looks(btw I'll argue that ASCI was long since replaced by the many tilesets loooong ago, which comes with the Newb Pack and practiclly every mod), but due to the same reason that games with focus on depth don't cash in and thus are the domain of much lower budget developers and/or overall why realism mods are never as successful as the lot of cool shit packed together mods i.e. There are a number of people already playing the pre-alpha and feedback has been overall positive, and a few Let's Play videos are available on Youtube.Ĭlick to expand.I doubt that MC is a proof of anything of the sort, you can find many open world games with similar time consuming gameplay and very pretty graphics, which are far far more successful. Keeping your colony alive involves not only feeding and sheltering your colonists, but protecting the colony from raiders and recruiting new people when you are short on numbers while simultaneously trying to keep your colonists from freaking out Dwarf Fortress style. One of the major features is that when you start a colony you select an AI Storyteller that sets the pace of the game - currently there will be at least one that ramps up difficulty as time goes on, one that is very friendly, and one that is completely random. The game kind of looks like Prison Architect as a space colony on a far out world. You can get pre-alpha access at the $30 tier once the KS ends. It's already got five times its rather modest goal of $20k but you might want to get it. Here's another Kickstarter that will likely interest quite a few people here:
